When you use our business card scanner:

You upload a photo of a business card
We send it to a third-party AI service
The AI extracts the contact information
We return the results to you

2. What We CANNOT Guarantee

Privacy: We cannot guarantee that AI providers keep your data private
Security: We cannot control their security measures
Data Use: They may use your data for AI training
Retention: We don't control how long they keep your data
Access: We cannot prevent unauthorized access to their systems

3. What's Safe to Scan?

✅ Office phone numbers
✅ Company addresses
✅ Professional email addresses
✅ Job titles and company names

Do NOT Scan

❌ Confidential information
❌ Personal mobile numbers (unless public)
❌ Home addresses
❌ Financial information
❌ Medical/legal information

4. Your Choices

You have options:

Manual Entry: You can always manually enter contact information instead of using AI scanning
Selective Use: Only scan cards with public information
Opt Out: Don't use the scanning feature if you're uncomfortable with the risks

5. Understanding the Risk

Think of AI scanning like this: When you scan a business card, you're essentially showing it to a third party. Assume that anything you scan could potentially become public. If that's not acceptable for a particular card, don't scan it.
